Gamestop has announced and released a new "Retro Gaming Store" section of their website which focuses on retro games and console sells. Although this is a pretty cool announcement for Gamestop customers, it does come with a few caveats.
One being, the ridiculous, yet true to Gamestop's reputation and business model, over the top prices for some of these retro games.. Examples are, Playstation's "Tales of Destiny 2: Suikoden 2 for $89.99 and as well as Chrono Trigger for SNES going for the same $89.99! As of now, there is no word on whether or not you will be able to trade in your retro games. Gamestop has discontinued accepting retro games as trade-ins and will only accept Last and Current Gen games and consoles.
I am NOT a fan of Gamestop. I try my best to never shop there unless it's for some cheap used accessory or pre-owned game. Let us know what you think about this announcement or even Gamestop as a business in the comments below!
